活动伊始，主持人外教Thando以流利的英语致开场辞，外教John、Hannah也热烈欢迎同学们重返校园，并引导大家围绕“过去一年的难忘瞬间”“成长与蜕变”“新学期展望”等话题展开交流。生动的开场迅速拉近了彼此距离，唤醒了大家用英语表达自我、分享故事的热情。
随后的互动环节将现场氛围推向高潮。在分享环节中，同学们依次用英语讲述过去一年里的珍贵经历：有人分享寒假在烧烤店里的兼职日常，有人畅谈春节期间与父母相处的温暖瞬间，有人诉说过去一年学习的坚持与收获，还有人讲述旅行途中遇见的别样风景。地道的表达、真挚的情感，让每一段故事都充满感染力，台下同学不时以掌声回应，在倾听中感受彼此的成长。紧接着的“趣味问答接力”游戏里，同学们围绕“不同国家的差异”等问题展开英文问答，Hannah告诉大家英国一年有三百多天都在下雨，来到中国这里的天气真的很不一样。同学们在轻松活泼的互动中锻炼了口语表达能力，也加深了对彼此的了解。
在温馨融洽的自由讨论环节，同学们与外教用英语继续畅谈着过去一年的收获与思考，同时也对新学期的学习、生活与目标展开规划。大家或交流英语学习方法，或分享专业学习心得，或探讨未来发展方向，不同的思想在英语的桥梁下交汇融合，充分展现了外语学子积极向上、勇于表达的精神风貌。
A New Semester, A New Start: Foreign Languages School English Corner "Reflecting on the Past, Embarking on the New Journey" Successfully Held
As spring breezes bring warmth and herald a new journey, young voices fill the air with eager conversation. On the evening of March 12th at 18:30, the Foreign Languages School successfully hosted an English Corner event themed "Reflecting on the Past, Embarking on the New Journey" in the second－floor multimedia classroom. Serving as a linguistic bridge, this event invited students to share their growth stories and life insights from the past year, gathering youthful energy and co-drawing the blueprint for the new semester.
The event opened with a fluent English address by host Thando. Foreign teachers John and Hannah also extended warm welcome to returning students, guiding everyone to engage in discussions around topics such as "Unforgettable Moments of the Past Year", "Growth and Transformation", and "Outlook for the New Semester". The lively opening quickly bridged the distance between teachers and students, sparking everyone's enthusiasm to express themselves and share stories in English.
Subsequent interactive sessions lifted the atmosphere to a climax. In the themed sharing segment, students took turns recounting precious experiences from the past year in English: some shared the daily routines of part-time work at a barbecue restaurant during winter vacation; others talked about the warm moments spent with family during the Spring Festival; some spoke of the perseverance and gains in their studies over the past academic year; and still others recounted the unique scenery and cultural encounters from their travels. Authentic expressions and sincere emotions made each story deeply moving, drawing frequent applause from the audience as they listened and witnessed one another's growth. In the following "Fun Q&A Relay" game, students engaged in English exchanges on topics like "Cultural Differences Between Countries". Foreign teacher Hannah shared the rainy climate of the UK, marveling at the diversity and beauty of China's weather, allowing students to practice their oral English in a relaxed and lively setting while deepening their understanding of different cultures.
In the warm and harmonious free discussion segment, students sat together with foreign teachers, continuing to chat in English about their gains and reflections from the past year, while also mapping out their study, life, and goals for the new semester.
